Fotografia

WHY PHOTOGRAPHY?

I have been always interested in photography. From 1962 to 1974 I documented more that 100 jazz concerts, for the Italian magazine “Musica Jazz”, then managed by my father Arrigo, who was a well known jazz critic, concert organizer and jazz historician.

Afterwards, my involvment in the computer software industry left no time for photography. I came back to it a few years ago, and went digital. No more jazz, but different themes related to street arts. More recently, I’ve been exploring color fine art photography based on long exposure times.

My jazz photos have been published mainly on jazz magazines, including Musica JazzJazzItJazz Magazine and others, on LP and CD covers, on books, including Stasera Jazz by my father, and have been presented in many personal exhibitions in Italy.

In 2006 I published a photographic book, with a large sample of my jazz photos: Swing, bob & free – Il jazz degli anni 60. Here you can find some images from this book:

I also travelled the world to photograph the best street art. Here some examples (you can find 1000 photos on my flickr street-art page):

Here are some examples of what I’m doing nowadays. These are from Morocco, and inspired to 19th century orientalistic watercolors:
